Kambash, the Department of Religious Ceremonies and the Prophet’s Birth in diwan held a ceremony to honor persons with disabilities and special needs on the occasion of The International Day of Social Justice in the Hall of Sheikh Abdul Qadir al-Ani (May God rest his soul) on Monday, February 21, 2022.

The ceremony began with the recitation of holy Quran followed by the speech of the Sunni Endowment Diwan, which was delivered by the Director of the Islamic Guidance Department in the Department of Religious and Charitable Institutions, Mr. Nihad al-Ani, in which he explained the true meaning of disability, which is represented by the barriers and obstacles that stand in front of the interested people to participate actively in society because they have sufficient self-confidence and hope to enable them to play their real role in society, and that the Sunni Endowment Diwan, as we have always known, stands in solidarity with all groups of society, orphans, displaced persons, students and teachers, and today It has a position of support, honor and support with an important group and a basic segment of society who are with special needs of concern and the Diwan will remain the great home that includes all categories of society.

The ceremony featured a series of events, songs and acting scenes from the disabled people and a screening of a film that reflects the interest of the Sunni Waqf Diwan in the segment of the owners of the concerns

A number of people with special needs were then honored by the president of the Sunni Endowment Diwan, Dr. Saad Kambash, as well as a number of innovators and intellectuals who have a role to play in supporting this important segment of society.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohammed Rashad, Deputy presidentof the Sunni Endowment for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Director General of the Planning and Follow-up Department of the Special Needs Care Authority, Mr. Ismail Moussa, President of the Disabled People’s Association in Iraq, Mr. Muwaffaq Tawfiq, and a number of personalities, intellectuals and innovators.
