Dr. Abdul Latif Ạlhemyem participated in the conference organized by UNESCO in France in cooperation with Iraqi and global commissions under the title “reviving the spirit of Mosul”.
Dr. Ạlhemyem thanked the organizers of the conference because it opened a new project portal, the hope projects in Nineveh.
He added: ‘the minaret of Mosul is not just a minaret, it is a memory of a nation, a history of a nation and a people’s March, and Al-Noori mosque is not a mosque in which worship is performed, but memory of generations since hundred years’’.
he added: ‘’ I believe that my country needs global support because we have fought a cosmic battle against extremism and terrorism on behalf of all worlds where young people have provided their blood at the altar of freedom, independence and human dignity’’.
Dr.Ạlhemyem focused on the importance on the field survey, drawing up a road map for reconstruction, creating new educational, recreational and housing projects to accommodate displaced people who lost their homes, and focusing on returning universities, schools and hospitals to people of Mosul’’.
Cooperation would also include the rehabilitation of Al-Hadbai minaret and al-Noori mosque as well as the protection of cultural heritage in Iraq-liberated areas, emphasizing that Mosul had actually begun to operate at Kuwaiti initiative, and there was an international consensus to assist Mosul.
